Community Health Needs Assessment
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requires Willis Knighton Health to identify our community’s health needs by conducting a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). Forvis Mazars conducted a formal assessment on our behalf in 2025 to find major healthcare needs, identify barriers to access and recommend health priorities for people living in northwest Louisiana. The analysis includes a review of past and present health data, demographics and community input from a large, diverse group.
Based on firsthand community input, secondary quantitative data, the needs evaluation process and prioritization of those needs, Willis Knighton Health includes the following in its community health improvement plan:
- Mental Health and Mental Disorders
- Preventative Care (Mammography Screening)
- Vaccination (Flu Vaccinations – esp. among minorities)
- Health Care (Preventable Hospital Stays)
- Healthcare Access and Quality (Primary Care Physicians, Mental Health Providers)
Implementation plans address these needs and focus Willis Knighton's efforts toward influencing effective changes for the benefit of our entire community.
