CARTO® 3 System
CARTO® 2 and 3 are three-dimensional (3D) heart mapping systems used in cardiac ablation procedures. The systems are designed for efficiency, reproducibility and accuracy for electrophysiologists performing catheter ablation procedures to treat patients with atrial fibrillation (AFib) and other heart rhythm conditions (arrhythmias).
How It Works
CARTO® 3 uses electromagnetic technology to create real-time maps of your heart structure to help electrophysiologists navigate your heart. The system creates 3D maps and pinpoints the exact location and orientation of catheters during diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. Abnormal heart tissue can be addressed through ablation, or surgical removal of the tissue.
Benefits
Fast anatomical mapping (FAM) technology allows clinicians to quickly create a map of the heart with CT-like resolution. This reduces the need for fluoroscopy radiation during catheter ablation procedures. This advanced technology compensates for patient and cardiac motion to create accurate pictures of cardiac structures.
