TriClip™ Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Repair

The TriClip™ is a minimally invasive treatment for tricuspid regurgitation, a condition where the valve between the two right chambers of the heart doesn’t close properly. This allows blood to leak backward, which can lead to symptoms like fatigue, swelling and shortness of breath.

What Is TriClip™?

TriClip™ is a small device designed to repair the tricuspid valve without the need for open-heart surgery. It’s delivered through a thin tube (catheter) inserted into a vein, usually in the leg and guided to the heart.

How It Works

Once in place, the TriClip™ gently clips together a portion of the tricuspid valve’s leaflets, helping them close more effectively. This reduces the backward flow of blood and improves the heart’s ability to pump efficiently. The entire procedure is done while the heart is still beating, and no chest incisions are needed.

Benefits of TriClip™

  • Minimally Invasive
The procedure is done through a catheter, avoiding the need for open-heart surgery and supporting a faster recovery.
  • Symptom Relief
Many patients experience less fatigue, swelling and shortness of breath after the procedure.
  • Improved Quality of Life
By reducing the burden on the heart, TriClip™ can help patients feel better and stay more active.
  • Option for High-Risk Patients
TriClip™ offers a valuable alternative for people who aren’t good candidates for traditional surgery due to age or other health conditions.
