Quality Magnets for High-Quality Images

You deserve high-quality imaging, the reason we offer advanced MRI technology to meet your needs. With seven high-field MRI units across hospitals and outpatient centers, accessing care in Shreveport, Bossier City and nearby areas is convenient and easy.

Open MRI

In the past, open MRI focused on comfort but often sacrificed image quality. At Willis Knighton, you don’t have to choose. We offer two open bore 1.5 Tesla MRI systems:

  • Siemens Magnetom Espree at Willis Knighton Bossier: This system provides clear images with a wide opening for comfort. In fact, 60% of exams can be done with your head and neck outside the magnet.
  • Siemens Magnetom Aera at Willis Knighton Pierremont: With 48 channels, this system delivers excellent image quality and supports a wide range of specialties.

These systems are an excellent option for patients of all ages, sizes and physical conditions.

High-Field Open MRI

If you’re nervous about small spaces, our 1.0 Tesla panorama open MRI at Portico Imaging and Technology Center is designed for your comfort. With a spacious 360° panoramic view, soft lighting and a five-foot wide opening, it provides a calming experience without compromising image quality.

Breast MRI

For breast imaging, we provide dedicated MRI services at hospital and outpatient locations. Open bore MRI systems at Bossier and Pierremont ensure accurate results and a comfortable experience.

Feel confident knowing we’re here to make your MRI experience as easy and stress free as possible, delivering top-quality images for your care.

Pediatric Imaging

Your child’s comfort and safety are our top priorities. That’s why we offer specialized pediatric MRI protocols designed to meet the needs of children at all six of our imaging locations.

If your child requires sedation for their exam, our caring team provides these imaging procedures at Willis Knighton South.

Digital 3 Tesla Strength MRI

You deserve access to technology that provides accurate and comfortable imaging. Philips Ingenia 3.0 Tesla MIR is the first digital MRI machine, offering superior quality, faster exams and advanced diagnostic capabilities.

With its high magnet strength, the Ingenia 3.0T delivers crisp images, helping your doctor make more precise diagnoses. It has the largest bore size, giving you a more open and comfortable experience during the scan. Flexible, lightweight coils mean excellent imaging for patients of all ages, sizes and physical conditions.

The Ingenia provides enhanced full-body imaging from neck to toe, as well as specialty scans like spectroscopy, tractography and perfusion scans. It's especially valuable for neurological and musculoskeletal imaging.

In addition, we’ll be able to enter the realm of functional MRI imaging. Functional MRI (fMRI) measures brain activity. Doctors use MRI to:

  • Assess the risk of brain surgery or similar invasive treatment
  • Learn how a normal, diseased or injured brain is functioning
  • Map the brain to identify regions linked to critical functions such as speaking, moving, sensing or planning. This helps plan surgery and radiation therapy of the brain.
  • Anatomically map the brain and detect the effects of tumors, stroke, brain injury or diseases like Alzheimer’s

The increased image clarity of the Ingenia 3.0T is ideal for diagnosing complex conditions:

    • Sports injuries
    • Multiple sclerosis
    • Conditions involving small body parts like the pituitary gland, orbits or inner ear.

You can feel confident knowing advanced technology at Willis Knighton is here to support the healthcare needs of your family.

SPECT CT

You deserve advanced imaging that gives your doctor the clearest possible picture of your health. SPECT CT combines two types of images into one, showing not just how your organs look but also how they work. This powerful tool uses nuclear imaging to evaluate the function of internal organs, helping your doctor make an accurate diagnosis.

Benefits of SPECT CT:

  • Low-dose CT imaging for your safety
  • Precise alignment of images to eliminate inaccuracies
  • More accurate diagnoses by showing both structure and function

SPECT CT can help detect or monitor the following conditions:

  • Tumors
  • Thyroid and parathyroid issues
  • Bone disorders
  • Heart and brain conditions
  • Lung disorders
  • Lymphatic system disorders
  • Infections
  • Inflammation
