PET / CT
If you're facing cancer or another serious condition, PET/CT scans offer valuable insights to help your doctor detect and understand the disease. Willis Knighton Cancer Center uses these scans to identify primary and metastatic disease, as well as recurring or residual tumors.
You'll receive a small amount of radiopharmaceutical that targets areas with active disease. A PET scan produces high-quality, fine detail images to help doctors assess the extent of the disease. PET scans are used to stage or restage known cancers and guide treatment decisions like chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Additionally, these scans help doctors evaluate how well treatments are working.
