October 3, 2025In America, someone has a heart attack every 40 seconds. According to the Centers for Disease Control, one in five of these attacks is silent. In other words, the heart is damaged, but you might not even be aware of it. The risk factors are well known and include obesity, smoking, family history, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and a sedentary lifestyle. Family history is the only one you can’t control.
