Dr. Jagan M. Beedupalli discusses heart disease on KTBS Heatlhline 3

September 11, 2025

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the U.S. Although doctors are seeing a significant increase in heart disease for young adults in their early 30s and 40s, many advances in recent years can lessen your risk for heart attack, stroke, angina, arrhythmia, heart failure and more.

Technology advances allow specialized physicians to use minimally invasive procedures to treat heart conditions with catheters, stents and more.

According to Dr. Beedupalli, heart conditions are heavily influenced by lifestyle. Many heart disease risk factors can be controlled with:

  • Healthy diet – fewer processed foods
  • Regular exercise
  • Less screen time
  • Time outdoors

Even if heart disease is common in your family, working with a cardiologist can help you reduce your risk.

Dr. Jagan M. Beedupalli is an interventional cardiologist at Willis Knighton Cardiology.
