How Wonder Kids Works

Services Included
- Learn how it feels to have a healthy diet. Your kid learns how to change their nutrition habits to focus on fruits, vegetables and healthy drinks.
- Experiment with ways to make exercise fun so your child wants to spend less time sitting to watch TV and play computer/video games.
- Habit change is not always easy. WK Wonder Kids offers support and education for your child and your whole family.
- Behavioral counseling

The Process
WK Wonder Kids takes place 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays at the WK Children’s Specialty Clinic. It’s geared for children ages two to 18 who have a body mass index (BMI) at or above 95th percentile of the CDC sex-specific BMI charts.
- Get a referral from your pediatrician that includes current lab work and assessment.
- Initial appointment can be up to three hours.
- Follow up visits are 30 minutes. Your child’s number of visits is based on severity of the disease.
