Types of Cancer
Cancer can start almost anywhere in the human body, which is made up of trillions of cells. When cells become damaged or abnormal, they may grow uncontrollably and form tumors that are either cancerous (malignant) or noncancerous (benign). Cancerous lumps of tissue can spread to other parts of the body, forming new tumors through a process called metastasis. Both types of tumors can cause serious symptoms or be life-threatening. At Willis Knighton Cancer Center, our team of doctors and specialists provide expert care for all types of cancer.
