Suggestions for Families
- Select a family spokesperson to keep communication flowing between your family and the medical team. This helps ensure everyone stays informed and reduces the need for multiple updates.
- Touch is a powerful way to show love and support. Holding your loved one’s hand, for example, can provide comfort and care in a special way.
- Leave a contact number with the nurses so we can reach you quickly if needed, especially in case of an emergency.
- Personal belongings: Due to limited space in the critical care units, we kindly ask that family members keep patient’s personal items until they are moved to a regular floor.
- For safety and health reasons, children under 12 are not allowed in the critical care units. This helps protect both patients and children from potential infections.
- Be mindful of the environment in the critical care unit. To ensure all patients have the quiet and rest they need, please keep noise to a minimum.
