Devin Smith was in end-stage kidney disease when the driver who regularly transported her to dialysis lost a son. The grieving mom decided to donate her son’s organs and specified that she wanted to help Smith. The transplant recipient thanks God and says she’ll always be grateful for the donor, his mom and the surgeon, Dr. Alana M. Hofmann, of Willis Knighton John C. McDonald Transplant Center.
