Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
This is a highly-detailed imaging test that provides more information than could be observed from an x-ray or CT scan. It is often used only after other tests have indicated a need to learn more. During this test a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine uses radiofrequency and a magnetic field to create computerized images as you pass through the tunnel-like machine. This non- invasive test may require the use of contrast. The test helps identify the function and structure of the cardiovascular system.
