Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE)

Transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) provides images of the inside of the heart using ultrasound waves. The test is performed by moving the ultrasound probe over the chest, where it forms still and/or moving images of the heart to gain information about the heart muscle and valves. This is the most common type of echocardiogram.
