Fellowship Overview

The Willis Knighton Health, in collaboration with the Department of Oral & Craniomaxillofacial Surgery, offers a 24-month post-residency fellowship designed to provide advanced, comprehensive training in the full scope of craniomaxillofacial surgery.

Structure:

Under the directorship of Dr. G. E. Ghali, this fellowship provides exposure to a high-volume surgical practice encompassing congenital and acquired conditions. Fellows will manage complex craniofacial deformities, including primary cleft lip and palate repair, as well as advanced cases requiring transcranial or skull base approaches. Training also includes comprehensive management of head and neck tumors, incorporating ablative procedures, robotic surgery (TORS), endocrine surgery, and microvascular reconstruction.

The fellowship integrates multidisciplinary collaboration through participation in Craniofacial/Cleft Teams and Head & Neck Tumor Boards, ensuring a robust academic and clinical experience.

Preliminary/Non-Categorical Internship

The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Willis Knighton Health is offering two one-year non-categorical internship positions beginning July 1 of a given year. These positions offer a year of education and experience in oral & maxillofacial surgery.

Non-categorical interns will function at the same level as a first-year resident while receiving the same education, training, and responsibilities. The scope at our program includes orthognathic surgery, trauma surgery, head and neck cancer with microvascular reconstruction, benign pathology, cleft and craniofacial, dentoalveolar/sedations, and cosmetics.
