Billing

Reduce your bill with insurance

Most insurance covers a portion of your bill. You are responsible for paying the deductible and a percentage of other costs. Deductibles and copayments are generally collected at the time of admission. If these are not collected when you are admitted, someone will contact you during your stay to arrange for payment.

As a courtesy, we’ll bill your insurance company for you. After you return home, you should receive copies of the hospital statement sent to your insurer. This statement shows you the cost of your hospital stay.

Your insurance is an agreement between you and the insurance company. We bill your insurance company to assist you, but you are responsible for assuring that payments are made. Please remember that even the best insurance coverage does not limit your responsibility for your bill. If the company pays less than is expected, you are responsible for the unpaid balance. The remaining balance must be paid within 90 days of discharge unless other arrangements have been made with the business office.

Questions

If at any time you have questions about your bill or need an estimate of charges, our business office is happy to help you. Please call 318-212-2443.

Why did you get a physicians’ bill?

Willis Knighton bills for services you received that were provided by the hospital. Physicians who care for you bill their services separately.

In some cases, you may receive bills from doctors who consulted with the physician caring for you to interpret test results or provide a specialized service. These medical providers may include pathologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, emergency room physicians, cardiologists, surgeons and other specialists.

If you have questions regarding billing and insurance coverage for physician providers, please refer to this Provider Billing & Insurance Contact List.
