Treatment Options

Your circulatory health is our priority. Skilled doctors and surgeons create a personalized treatment plan to improve your circulation and relieve discomfort so you can feel better. With advanced technology and leading-edge treatments, our vascular team provides expert care and support.

  • Laser ablation of varicose veins Laser energy is used to close the unhealthy veins, allowing blood to reroute through healthy veins. This is performed in an outpatient hospital setting.
  • Vein stripping/removal – The unhealthy vein is removed through a small incision in the skin. As with laser ablation, this allows the blood to reroute through healthy veins. This is performed in an outpatient hospital setting.
  • Ambulatory phlebectomy – Minimally invasive procedure that removes varicose veins through small incisions in the skin.
  • Thrombolysis of DVT/PE – “Clot busting” is a minimally invasive procedure where a catheter is placed into the vein to deliver a blood thinner directly to the clot.
  • Medical management of DVT – An oral medication is prescribed by your doctor to manage the clot and help prevent formation of new clots.
  • Laser treatment of spider veins – In-office procedure where laser energy is applied to the skin to reduce the appearance of spider veins in the legs or face.
  • Wound care for leg ulcers – Once a leg wound is diagnosed, you can be treated by our team or referred to Willis Knighton Wound Care.
  • Hematology for recurrent blood clots – If you experience recurring blood clots, our hematology department can evaluate the cause and devise a treatment plan.
  • Lymphedema – Willis Knighton Health has a lymphedema clinic that can evaluate, treat and help you manage the condition.
